The 2007 show season wrapped up with record success at the US National Show in Albuquerque. With 7 horses in attendance, Aria was extremely proud to achieve:

Regional Wins

Congratulations to two rising Aria stars on recent Regional wins.

ARIA EGZALT, now proudly owned by Bob Pomeroy & Carrie Langstroth of Pomeroy Arabians, was named Breeders Sweepstakes Champion Yearling Colt with Greg Gallun at the Region I Show in Del Mar, CA. Congratulations!

ARIA IMPRESARIO, the reigning Scottsdale Supreme Champion, was named unanimous Region 9 Breeders Sweepstakes Champion Yearling Colt in the capable hands of Andy Sellman.

Thank you to Greg, Andy & Michael Byatt Arabians for making these success possible.

We are looking forward to a very exciting US Nationals in Albuquerque!

Vegas Success - ARIA EGZALT

Aria is pleased to announce the success of ARIA EGZALT at the first annual Arabian Breeders World Cup in Las Vegas. In an outstanding field of senior yearling colts, EGZALT finished first with an excellent score from all five judges including two 20's for type, and a 20 each for head and movement.

Thank you Greg Gallun for handling and preparing the colt with class and dignity. Congratulations also on your well deserved win as the "Handler of Excellence".

Vegas - Three Weeks and counting

The reality of the Arabian Breeders World Cup in Las Vegas is just three weeks away! Entries are on target, sponsorship support is incredible and hotel rooms are oversold - the show is shaping up to be huge sucess!

International guests and horses from all corners of the globe are scheduled to attend - you will not want to miss this event! With the use of the World Cup Scoring System to evaulate all breeding & halter entries, the show will set the standard for the way horses are judged in North America.

Plan to show, attend, enjoy and be a part of history - the world of the Arabian horse will never be same after April in Vegas! 

*EL NABILA B Colt

The first *EL NABILA B foal for Aria has arrived. A grey colt out ELLUSION OF MAGIC was born Friday morning March 23rd at Zerlotti Equine in Boerne, Texas. The colt is everything we expected - exotic headed with a small tapered muzzle, prominent jibbah, broad forehead, large dark eyes and small well shaped ears, very upright with a perfectly placed and elegantly shaped neck, wonderfully long and laid-back shoulder, strong well coupled build, and substantial well conformed limbs.

*EL NABILA B, has been a consistent sire of world-class quality foals around the world, including several Brazilian National and international Champions. Our own *SASHAA LHT, Scottsdale Senior Two Year Old Filly winner, is the perfect example of his extraordinary siring ability. Congratulations to North Arabians on your exquisite *EL NABILA filly out of Indianne Psylk, dam of National Champion French Psylk.

The dam of the newest Aria addition is National Top Ten, Regional & Buckeye Champion ELLUSION OF MAGIC, an elegant and talented daughter of the legendary Ericca and Magic Dream. He first foal, ARIA ELATION by *Gazal Al Shaqab, was recently named Scottsdale Signature Champion Colt, carrying on the unprecedented success of the family of legendary National Champion *Elkana.    

Four Fantastic Fillies

The foaling season has started of with a bang! Four foals have thus far arrived from Aria mares and all four are fillies.

The first to arrive on January 21st was a beautiful chestnut filly for Kirk Bardole out of 2007 Scottsdale Champion Mare *ELANDRA. She is sired by multi-international champion *PERSHAHN EL JAMAAL and is nominated as a Scottsdale Signtaure Auction Filly for 2008. Congratulations Kirk!

The first of last year's Polish imports to foal this season (March 07) was *ALEGORIA, a well-bred, long necked and elegant daughter of the legendary *EUKALIPTUS, tracing tail female to the "Queen of Janow" ALGERIA. She delivered a fancy grey filly by World Champion EKSTERN. 

The much anticipated *PIANISSIMA-*PERSHAHN EL JAMAAL foal was born on March 11th for Liz & Harold Green of Evergreen Arabians. More than living up to expectations, this exotic chestnut filly appears to be as extraordinary as her magnificent sire and dam. Congratulations Liz & Harold - thank you for believing in her!

The latest arrival is yet another filly, a bay model by World Champion *GAZAL AL SHAQAB out of Pride of Poland superstar *AMBA. A full sister to Polish National Champion AMRA and one of the best young *EUKALIPTUS daughters in the world, AMBA, like ALEGORIA, is a granddaughter of Polish National Champion "Million Dollar Mare" ALGERIA. Together with PEPESZA, AMBA & ALEGORIA will comprise the exemplary collection of foundation mares for the newly established Hennessey Arabians in Ocala, Florida. Congratulations Frank & Carol on your new venture!

Six foals by Brazilian National Champion *EL NABILA B are still expected as is a foal by World Champion PIRUET out of our beloved PEPESZA. Stay tuned for more foal news...

Thank you Greg & Nancy and the incredibly talented staff at Gallun Farms for an equally extraordinary week. This win for *ELANDRA has been 12 years in the making - I know how much it meant to you. She was all that we expected and more - thank for making her look spectacular and for showing her with the dignity and respect she deserves. Those Saturday & Sunday mornings with that beautiful mare in the ring will remain among my most treasured memories.

Thank you Bob & Janene for bringing Lois & ANGELICCAH together and for facilitating their incredible success! It could not happen to a nicer team! Thanks also for putting Austin on the lead - masterfully done! Thank you for bringing DARK ANGEL into our family of mares - she has truly earned her elite status...

Thank you Keith & Maureen for bringing out the best in MAGNETIK BEY - now if we can only get Jeff to take his job seriously! What was supposed to be "just for fun" turned out to be a whole lot of "unanimous" fun!!! WOW and WOO-HOO!!! Thank you for making it all possible and for truly making it fun.

Thank you Greg & Jocelyn for the incredible make-over with MARCELA. She really turned out to be a star! Two big prizes in deep competition - more than we could have possibly asked for. Thank you Patrice for showing her so beautifully - you were an incredible team!

Thank you Greg for bringing ARIA ELATION so far - his win was the real icing on the cake! Thank you Camie for showing him with such great skill - no one could have done it better! Thank you also Greg for bringing ALMANARA & Pam Holbrook together and congratulations to Guzzo for showing her with such skill. May they continue to find great success ahead!

Thank you David for once again bringing out the best in *CARAMBA - she has matured into the mare that we expected her to be.

Thank you to the international Arabian community for your tremendous support throughout the show and the continued interest in all our efforts following the big week. We are proud of the horses we have brought together in the Aria program and look forward to sharing their success with the Arabian community at large. What Scottsdale proved more than anything is that "working together, we can all win".   

It's a Great Time!

What an exciting time this is to be in the Arabian horse business. When I was in the business back in the roaring '80s, the market was largely a U.S. based market. Granted, U.S. breeders did a lot of buying from foreign countries - Poland, Egypt, etc, ....but there were very few foreign buyers buying from U.S. breeders. Now it seems the tables have turned. We're in the midst of an international expanstion of our market the likes we haven't experienced before. UAE and the Middle East, South Africa, Australia, and certainly all over Europe and South America have been extremely active in buying from U.S. breeders. At the very least, this is a great endorsement on the quality of horses we are now breeding and marketing here in the U.S. But moreover, with the broadening of the market to foreign interests, our domestic industry becomes significantly stronger. And the annual competitive calendar now includes major shows in places all over the world and throughout the year.

I'm particuarly excited about the upcoming Las Vegas Show because it will be truly international in flavor and style and will welcome international enthusiasts from all over the globe. I recently witnessed the purchasing of Arabian horses here in America by foreign interests solely for the purpose of assembling a show string that will compete favorably at the Vegas Show. This is a lesson in the types of things we need to do here to continue to attract foreign buyers. And I think we will see more buying and selling going on at the Vegas Show. I know several breeders who are bringing horses to exhibit in order to expose them to potential foreign buyers.

It's this very kind of activity that is going to help us support and grow our businesses of owning, showing, breeding, and marketing our beloved Arabians. As a result, I for one, am very very bullish on the future of the Arabian horse industry here in America and across the globe.  It's a great time to be an Arabian horse owner!
